PrivacyShot privacy notice
Your screenshot stays yours
PrivacyShot is designed to capture and redact web screenshots locally in your browser. This notice describes the data boundaries of the extension and this product page.
In short: PrivacyShot does not require an account, does not upload screenshots or page content, and does not run a cloud image-processing service.
What the extension processes
When you click the extension to capture a page, PrivacyShot temporarily accesses the current tab, captures the visible page or supported full-page segments, identifies suspected sensitive areas with local rules, and opens the editor. The original capture and redaction areas are used for the current editing session.
Settings, custom keywords, and custom CSS selectors may be stored in chrome.storage.local. Temporary capture data is held by the extension only for the editing session and is cleared when the session is finished or cleaned up.
What PrivacyShot does not do
- It does not send screenshots, page text, form values, or redaction results to a server.
- It does not record browsing history or run persistently on every website.
- It does not sell, rent, or use your screenshot data for advertising profiles.
- It does not execute remote code; the extension code is packaged with the extension.
External links
A success screen or this site may link to StepWise. The link opens only after you choose it. PrivacyShot does not send screenshots or page information to StepWise in the background.
